History of Khvostov 7G-02

Overview

Khvostov 7G-02 is a Legendary Kinetic Auto Rifle from The Pale Heart in The Final Shape, a callback to the first weapon every Guardian received in the original Destiny. Its flavor text says it is "an ancient instrument of war, battered and worn - but it still fires true." It is also the required first step to the Exotic Khvostov 7G-0X, whose Exotic perk "The Right Choice" makes every seventh bullet deal extra damage and ricochet between targets.

Acquisition

• Gather 15 Lost Encryption Bits: nine from gold region chests across the Pale Heart (including The Blooming, The Landing and The Impasse) and six from scrap piles in Cyst activities, which unlock through Micah-10's post-campaign quest. The bits combine into a Lost Encryption Code, which opens a chest in the Pale Heart that contains the weapon. Some listings place that chest in The Divide instead.
• Requires completing The Final Shape campaign.
• Obtaining the Legendary is the first half of the Exotic Khvostov quest; the second half needs Motes of Primordial Light from Visions of the Traveler collectibles and Overthrow bosses.
