History of IV - Shutdown

Overview

IV - Shutdown is a Triumph in Destiny 2 tied to chapter IV of the lore book Quintessence, added with The Witch Queen in March 2022. The chapter is narrated in the third person and follows Crow.

Lore chapter

As the Guardian chases Caiatl's flagship toward the Scarlet Keep, Crow sneaks into the Psisorium instead of doing the reconnaissance that Lord Saladin asked for. He finds a Psion linked to a Lucent Hive in holding tanks and uses a hidden Cabal command to shut the machine down. When he tries to wake the Psion, the machine reverses its energy flow and batters it with feedback. The backlash burns out the Psion's eye and knocks Crow to the floor, then the machine goes silent.
