IV: Whispers

Overview

IV: Whispers is a lore triumph in Destiny 2 for chapter IV of the lore book The Book of Unmaking. The book was introduced in Season of the Forge (January 2019).

The chapter is translated from the 7th Book of Sorrow, a Hive text, and the translation is followed by a handwritten note from Teben Grey. The verses tell the reader to seek faint whispers, which they describe as a call. They separate hollow, fragile bone from bone that carries real truth, and present the "cutting word" as a path toward the reader's unmaking.

The note describes a derelict craft in low orbit, locked to the coordinates of its master's grave about 1,800 km below. The ship seems to yearn for its master's return, and its hull is crusted with unknown bone. The whispers start during approach and make the observers' ears bleed.
