Fateful Spin

Overview

Fateful Spin is a Triumph from the Bungie 30th Anniversary set, and one of the ten triumphs toward the Vidmaster title. It requires completing all five challenges on the Wheel of Adversity in Dares of Eternity. The triumph's description lists Expert difficulty, but guides published around the 30th Anniversary describe the same challenges as Legend difficulty, so confirm the difficulty shown in the activity before starting.

How to complete

Each Dares of Eternity run gives two spins of the Wheel of Adversity: one in the Valley and one in the Vault. Each spin picks one of five challenges, and each challenge targets a different enemy faction:

1. Mines defused: defuse the mines scattered across the arena. This one is tied to the Fallen.
2. Crystals shattered: destroy Hive crystals. Take the buff dropped by slain Hive Knights, then use it on the crystals.
3. Minotaurs defeated: use beam weapons taken from slain Vex to strip the shields from Vex Minotaurs, then kill them.
4. Commanders defeated: defeat Cabal commanders by throwing artillery orbs at them.
5. Blight destroyed: defeat a Taken Minotaur to spawn the munitions that destroy a Taken Blight.

The wheel refers to the first two combat encounters, not the final boss. Because the rotation changes each week, it takes at least three weeks to finish all five. Keep track of which challenges you have already completed so each weekly run is spent on the missing ones.

Tips

• Enter the activity at the light level the difficulty requires. Guides describe Legend entry at light level 1320, and normal difficulty does not count.
• Pick up the Starhorse's Favor buff if you can. It gives regenerating Heavy ammo for the next encounter.
• Play with a coordinated fireteam so the faction-specific objectives are covered each run.
