History of Exotic Archive

The Exotic Archive is the Tower vendor for re-acquiring Exotics whose original sources have been removed from the game. It is also called the Monument to Lost Lights, and sits in the Courtyard on the wall with the Vault terminals, between the two vault kiosks.

Inventory

Exotic Gear is split by expansion. Archive I covers The Red War, Forsaken, Shadowkeep and Beyond Light; Archive II covers The Witch Queen, Lightfall and The Final Shape. Items from expansions the player does not own require that expansion or its pack. Legacy Gear covers sunset seasonal weapons and Crucible, Gambit and Vanguard weapons, plus some ornaments, and needs no expansion.

Costs

Every purchase costs Glimmer. Exotics also require an Exotic Cipher, which can be earned from Xûr or Master Rahool, by maxing a reputation rank, through the Season Pass, or from the Xenology quest. Most Exotics also cost Ascendant Shards, and Exotics that came from raids need Spoils of Conquest. Forsaken items can instead be bought with a Forsaken Cipher. Pinnacle weapons use Legendary Shards and Enhancement Prisms. Costs vary by item; in patch 6.3.0, destination material costs were replaced with Legendary Shard costs.
