Ecdysis is a lore book added in Season of the Drifter. It tells the story of the Awoken Titan Orin and how she became the second Emissary of the Nine.

The book has 45 numbered entries across nine chapters: Seeds and Cuttings, Chords of Meaning, Risen, War Hammer, Question After Question, Queenslaw, Debt, Synesthesia and Scales. Its entries are unlocked by completing the Invitations of the Nine.

Story

Orin is first called Nasya Sarwar, a classless Scopare aboard the Yang Liwei. After she awakens in the Distributary she takes the name Nasan Ar and works as a mediator. She joins Mara Sov's return to Earth, is killed by Risen, and is resurrected by her Ghost, Gol, as Orin. The Techeuns later call her Orin the Lost.

She serves with the Pilgrim Guard and is sentenced under queenslaw after smuggling Namqi Sen out of Reef holdings. Sjur Eido and Namqi both die, and Orin develops synesthesia-like hallucinations. After a falling-out with The Drifter, she leaves to find the Nine.
