Dissenters

The Dissenters are a small group of minds banished from the collective that formed the Witness. The Witness was assembled from several Precursor factions, among them the Benefic, the Penitent, the Solipsists and the Nihilists, and the Penitent came to dominate the others.

The Dissenters speak through veiled statues in the Witness's storm-shrouded temples. They urge the Guardian to "give yourself to Darkness" in order to be heard, and they plead to be set free. When the Witness was unmade, its minds were released and became part of the Traveler, became Echoes, or took other forms.
