History of Destined Heroes

Overview

Destined Heroes is the Exotic quest from The Final Shape that awards the Exotic Sword Ergo Sum. Ghost offers it after the campaign mission Iconoclasm, and it is the umbrella for the post-campaign story: it sends you through the Queens, Lost in the Light and Found in the Dark questlines before the final mission, Hope. It can be earned once per account and takes a few hours in total, mostly because of the two Prismatic quests.

Note: sources agree on the overall order but describe a few intermediate steps differently (for example the name of Cayde-6's and Micah-10's side quests), so the walkthrough below follows the in-game step text.

Walkthrough

1. Listen to the strange radio transmission coming from the old Tower in the Lost City (The Pale Heart); it uses a Hive frequency.
2. Complete "Queens, Part I" to investigate Savathun's Lucent Hive near the portal.
3. Speak to Micah-10 through her conduit in the Arbor of Light.
4. Talk to Cayde-6 in the Lost City.
5. Meet Ghost on the ledge of the old Tower in the Lost City.
6. Talk to Ghost to start "Lost in the Light" and "Found in the Dark". Complete both; they unlock the Prismatic subclass abilities and are required before the final mission.
7. Complete "Queens, Part II" in the Refraction to investigate spikes of Taken energy.
8. Return to the Lost City and confer with Ghost; he hands over the Dyadic Prism.
9. Use the Dyadic Prism to open the new landing zone in the Sacrarium and claim your destiny (the final mission, "Hope"). Interact with the statue at the end to receive Ergo Sum.

Rewards

• Ergo Sum (Exotic Sword, random intrinsic and perks).
• Completion of the Lost in the Light and Found in the Dark questlines, with their Prismatic unlocks.
• Further Ergo Sum rolls can later be farmed from the Pathfinder in The Pale Heart (per GameSpot).

Trivia

• Some guide URLs misspell the name as "Destined Hereos".
