History of Cydonian Cichlid

Overview

The Cydonian Cichlid is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that is completed by catching one Cydonian Cichlid while fishing. Fishing was added with Season of the Deep. The Cichlid is an Uncommon fish, the lowest quality tier of catch.

How to complete

1. Unlock fishing through the Season of the Deep questline.
2. Speak to Suraya Hawthorne to receive a Fishing Tackle.
3. Collect bait. Bait drops from public events, the seasonal Salvage activity and Deep Dives. Each cast uses one Bait.
4. Travel to one of the three Fishing Ponds: the Outskirts in the European Dead Zone, the Cistern on Nessus, or the Miasma on Savathûn's Throne World.
5. Stand at the edge of the pond and press interact to cast. When a fish bites, press interact again. A quick press gives a Perfect Catch, a slightly late press gives a normal catch, and a press that is too late gives an Empty Hook.
6. Walk over the fish that land on the ground to collect them. Keep casting until one of your catches is a Cydonian Cichlid.

Tips: The Cichlid is the lowest tier, so it does not need a Perfect Catch. Uncommon catches do not fill the communal Focused Fishing meter, which rises only with Legendary fish (see Focused Fishing). Keep casting at whichever pond has the most activity.
