Coalescence of the Knife

Coalescence of the Knife is a Heresy-era consumable needed to unlock the Target Lock catalyst for Barrow-Dyad. It does not sit in your inventory, so keep your own count. Three are required.

Acquisition

• Mission Dossier: Blade Logic: start this side quest at the Shaping Slab, complete its main objective and turn it in for one.
• The Founts rune chest: shoot the three symbols on the wall, then recreate the rune pattern in the room behind them. After taking the chest, shoot the rune on the pillar to open a maze, and break the small Taken Blight inside for one.
• The Hull Cabal chest: near the Hive pillars by the Scarlet Keep area, walk toward the nearby Cabal flag to scan a Toland Orb. Drop into the hidden bunker, use the scanned code and open the chest. If the orb is not there, claim The Founts rune chest first or obtain Barrow-Dyad's other catalysts.

Catalyst

With three Coalescence of the Knife, activate the dormant Hive machine in the side room at the far end of The Hull from its spawn point to open a portal. Open the chest on the other side to start the quest. Complete the Derealize Exotic mission with Barrow-Dyad equipped (Normal difficulty counts; it only needs to be equipped at the end of the mission), then forge Target Lock onto Barrow-Dyad.
