Overview

Cascade Point is a trait on many weapons that boosts a different weapon's rate of fire. Final blows or sustained precision hits with another weapon fill a meter. Once it fills, you have about five seconds to switch to the Cascade Point weapon, which then fires faster for about 2.5 seconds (2.75 seconds in the enhanced version).

The meter per precision hit depends on the weapon type: about 50% for Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, Linear Fusion Rifle and Bow (about 2 hits); 17.5% for Scout Rifle, Hand Cannon and Sidearm (about 6 hits); 8% for Auto Rifle, Submachine Gun, Machine Gun, Pulse Rifle and Trace Rifle (about 13 hits). The meter values come from one guide. Common pairing: land precision hits with a sniper, then fire a Grenade Launcher that has the perk.

Notes

One guide says Bungie disabled Cascade Point on 10 April 2024 after a bug let players swap it out for another perk and keep a permanent boost. The guide did not confirm whether it has been re-enabled, so check the current game.
