History of Abyss Defiant (Adept)

Overview

Abyss Defiant (Adept) is the Adept version of Abyss Defiant, a Legendary Solar Auto Rifle with a 360 RPM frame, the high-impact option of the raid's weapon pool. The PvE roll TheGamer recommends is Extended Barrel, Ricochet Rounds, Subsistence and Incandescent, since Incandescent can trigger Cursed Thrall explosions, and Destructoid notes Heal Clip with Incandescent as well. The 360 RPM archetype limits it in PvP. The Adept version adds Adept mod slots and enhanced masterwork bonuses.

Acquisition

Drops from the Crota's End raid. Sources disagree on exactly which encounter drops which weapon, so check the current loot table in game. This Adept version is earned from Master difficulty raid completions (Master challenge rewards give a random Adept weapon). The Master-mode reward structure may have changed since it launched. All of the raid's weapons carry the Cursed Thrall origin trait: after a melee kill, final blows with the weapon make targets explode for a short time.
