History of Woven Mail

Overview

Woven Mail is a Strand buff introduced with Lightfall that reduces incoming body and limb damage for 10 seconds. Headshot damage is not reduced. Against PvE sources it reduced body damage by 45% after Update 7.3.0 (November 2023), down from 55%. PvP values have been reported differently over time.

The buff is granted by destroying a Tangle or casting your Super, which also applies it to nearby allies, by the Thread of Warding Fragment when you pick up an Orb of Power, and by Cyrtarachne's Facade when you activate a grapple. Recasting the buff refreshes its duration rather than stacking.

Interactions

While Woven Mail is active, Into the Fray increases melee recharge rate, Cyrtarachne's Facade adds flinch resistance, and the Thread of Transmutation Fragment creates a Tangle on weapon final blows.

Trivia

It was among the Strand buffs adjusted in 7.3.0 alongside changes to melee and sprint behaviour.
