History of Witch

Witch is not a standalone enemy type in Destiny 2. The Hive caste is called a Wizard; "Witch" appears only in the names of a few Wizard variants and as a title.

Usage

• Siphon Witches: female Hive Wizards of the Hidden Swarm seen draining the Light from a Shard of the Traveler in the mission Chamber of Night. They are the only Wizards named after their gender, and they first appeared in the original Destiny.
• Ritual Witches: the two Wizards of the Witches Ritual public event, which takes place on Titan. The Wizards try to open a portal, with Thralls, Acolytes and Knights as support; on the Heroic version destroying two crystals spawns an Abyssal Champion.
• Savathûn, the Witch Queen, holds the title as a name rather than as an enemy type; her Lucent Brood are covered separately.

Not found

No Hive enemy is called a Witch in Ghosts of the Deep or The Witch Queen; those campaigns use Wizards and Lightbearer Wizards instead. See Wizard and Lightbearer.

Notes

Witch is not used as an alternate name for the whole Wizard caste.
