History of Winterbite

Winterbite is an Exotic Stasis Glaive introduced with Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Overview

Its intrinsic fires a slow-moving Stasis crystal that damages and temporarily freezes enemies. It is a heavy-slot Glaive.

Acquisition

Complete the "Strider" Exotic quest from Quinn Laghari at the Hall of Heroes in Neomuna, available after the Lightfall campaign (past "Desperate Measure") and restoring the Broken Memorials. Steps (KeenGamer): spend keys on a Terminal Overload chest in each of three Neomuna areas; defeat Shadow Legion combatants for 20 Location Data and complete the Gilded Precept Lost Sector; restore the Strider memorial; defeat Hydras and shut down Vex confluxes at Maya's Retreat; return to Quinn. Exact steps may have changed since launch.

Catalyst

The Winterbite Catalyst adds Rimestealer: destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target with Winterbite grants Frost Armor. It is reported to drop from Vanguard Ops, Crucible Ops, Gambit, or an Exotic Order payout in the Seasonal Hub. After obtaining it, defeat targets with Winterbite to unlock the perk.
