History of What Came Before

Overview

What Came Before is a 30th Anniversary triumph for acquiring Forerunner, an Exotic Sidearm, through Xûr's Treasure Hoard in Eternity. The acquisition quest is Magnum Opus.

How to complete

1. Visit Xûr at Xûr's Treasure Hoard and obtain Magnum Opus. Collect seven Strange Coins, then complete the required Starhorse bounties during Dares of Eternity.
2. Reach rank four, Brave, with Xûr and obtain the Strange Key when the quest directs you to do so.
3. Enter the valley beside Xûr's Treasure Hoard and use the Strange Key at the small rectangular stone in the rocks on the right. Follow the waypoint into the cave and climb through its ledges and moving blocks.
4. Open the cryo pod to obtain the Anomalous Object, then take it to Banshee-44 in the Tower to receive Forerunner.

Owning the Strange Key alone does not complete the triumph. Finish the quest and acquire the weapon; its catalyst is a separate objective.
