History of Warpriest

The Warpriest is an ancient Ascendant Hive Knight and servant of Oryx, first mentioned in the Books of Sorrow. He is the first major boss of the King's Fall raid, blocking access to Golgoroth's Cellar in the Basilica.

Encounter

Players must activate glyphs in the correct order to gain the Aura of the Initiate buff, the only way to damage him. Failing the puzzle triggers a wipe through his Oculus attack. Hard Mode adds Taken abilities such as Axion Darts and Retaliation Swarms.

Lore

According to his Grimoire entry he learned to create an Oversoul from Crota, so he may not be truly dead. He also appears in the original Destiny's The Taken King.
