History of Variant Stalker Brakion

Variant Stalker Brakion, Repurposed Mind is the final boss of the exotic mission NODE.OVRD.AVALON from Season of Defiance. It is a repurposed Brakion, Genesis Mind, the Vex Mind of the Pyramidion on Io. The Vex rebuilt it to hunt Asher Mir's influence in the Nexus, and its arenas are modeled on the Pyramidion Strike. Completing the mission advances The Variable quest, which later leads to the Vexcalibur Exotic glaive.

Phases

• Phase 1: Brakion fires at you and teleports between the arena corners. Clear the other Vex while damaging him. Dying restarts the whole fight.
• Phase 2: Brakion is behind a barrier. Destroy the Encryption Daemon to trigger a security protocol, then enter the access code. The barrier drops, and you damage him until one health bar is gone. Then take the portal behind the barrier.
• Phase 3: The fight moves to an open arena with Brakion and his accompanying Vex.

Codebreaking

Glowing shapes (square, triangle, diamond) appear on the left or right of the arena. Shoot them in the displayed order. A wrong shot resets the sequence.

Combat notes

Brakion takes only 50 percent damage from abilities, so regular weapons are needed to finish him. Destinypedia notes that the codebreaking mechanic replaces the Sync Plate shield from the original strike.
