History of Vanguard Engram

A Vanguard Engram is a Legendary engram that decrypts into Vanguard weapons or armor from the current pool, and a currency on Commander Zavala's Rank track.

Acquisition

One engram is granted for each rank gained with Zavala (earned through Vanguard activities such as Strikes). Claim from Zavala's vendor screen.

Use

Focused decoding at Zavala targets specific Vanguard weapons or armor, including Nightfall weapons, which must have dropped at least once. A Nightfall focus cost 1 Vanguard Engram, 20,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards at the time of the cited source (post-Lightfall era; may change). No visit to Master Rahool is required to decrypt. Seasonal Vanguard weapons such as Positive Outlook may be added to the pool later.
