The Unknown Artifact is a spherical object from the Shadowkeep "Beyond" mission, taken from the pyramid under the Scarlet Keep. It is the item that ends the mission and begins a cinematic.

Quest

Before entering the pyramid for the mission, players need a full set of Dreambane armor. The artifact is then brought to Eris Morn for study, and the quest continues back in the Tower with Commander Zavala. Sources note that the artifact is tied to messages from the Witness.
