History of Umbral Riches

Overview

Umbral Riches is a Legendary quest in Destiny 2 offered by the Exo Stranger on Europa. It is one of the Stasis Fragment quests added with the Beyond Light expansion (Season 12, Season of the Hunt) and is one of the Gambit quests: you pick a playlist type (Crucible, Strikes or Gambit) when buying quests, and each of the four quests per category can be offered at random. The Exo Stranger only lets you take two Fragment quests per week. It is a single-step quest completed in Gambit, and takes a handful of matches.

Walkthrough

1. Finish the Beyond Light campaign, then Born in Darkness parts 1 and 2 so the Exo Stranger will sell Fragment quests, and pick up Umbral Riches from her.
2. In Gambit: Defeat 7 Blockers with Grenade and Grenade Launcher damage.
3. In Gambit: Defeat 40 frozen combatants.
4. In Gambit: Get 30 Stasis Super final blows.
5. Hand the quest in to the Exo Stranger for a Memory Fragment.

Objectives can be progressed in any order and in the same matches. Using a Stasis subclass makes freezing, slowing and shattering objectives much quicker.

Note: the objective counts above are as listed in the quest data on this wiki. At least one older source (Destiny 2 Wiki, written for Season 12) lists higher numbers for some of these objectives, so the quest was apparently retuned. I could not confirm whether the quest is still offered or when it was removed.

Rewards

• Memory Fragment, which the Exo Stranger exchanges one-for-one for a Stasis Fragment.
