Touch of Malice is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle forged by Eris Morn from Hive secrets, a "Weapon of Sorrow" that first appeared in Destiny 1 and returned to Destiny 2 in the King's Fall raid.

Overview

It is a full-auto, rapid-fire-frame scout rifle. Its intrinsic perk, "Touch of Malice", makes the final round in the magazine deal bonus damage drawn from the wielder's own health, then regenerates itself; defeating several targets quickly restores health. A second trait, "Charged with Blight", lets precision hits drain combatants and charge a Darkness projectile that blinds targets. Sources rate it highly for PvE and weak in the Crucible.

Acquisition

  • Random drop from the final boss Oryx in the King's Fall raid (one source estimates a base drop rate around 5%; raid triumphs raise it).
  • Blueberries.gg says it can be bought from the Monument to Lost Lights once earned; no second source confirms this, so check in game.
  • In Destiny 1 it required a long questline (45 Calcified Fragments and strike bosses); that quest does not exist in Destiny 2.

Catalyst

The catalyst is found inside King's Fall: the player holding Touch of Malice stands on a plate to spawn four relics, which the team must pick up simultaneously from the four quadrants and deliver to the statues in the middle of the Dreadnaught before a timer runs out. Afterwards 700 weapon kills are needed to unlock it. It adds Rapid Hit: rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
