Overview
The Navigator Catalyst tracks mastery of The Navigator, an Exotic Strand special Trace Rifle from Ghosts of the Deep. The weapon is not a ship. Its objective requires 700 weapon final blows and refers to the dungeon's secret encounter.
Acquisition and secret encounter
Have The Navigator available and complete the three-stage secret encounter in Ghosts of the Deep. At each stage, collect Vestige of Light from a pile of dead Ghosts and carry it to the nearby statue within its timer to summon Thul-Ar, Acolyte of Nokris.
- After the opening encounter, return to the forest's hidden underground room beneath fallen trees. Collect the vestige at the back and carry it to the statue near the circular tower.
- Before Ecthar, the Shield of Savathûn, collect the vestige in the enemy-filled room beyond the first underwater section. Return through the water to the statue in the submerged dome.
- After Ecthar, collect the vestige near the fallen chandelier at the beginning of the long Hive hallway. Carry it through the hallway to the statue at the far end.
At each statue, match the boss's displayed symbol to the appropriate Knight, defeat that Knight and use the resulting damage pool to attack Thul-Ar. The boss retreats after the earlier stages. Defeat it at the final statue, crush its Ghost and open the catalyst chest.
How to complete
With the catalyst acquired, defeat 700 targets using The Navigator. The final blow must come from the weapon; granting Woven Mail to an ally does not supply a target defeat. The record also refers to completing the secret encounter again, so repeat the statue sequence when completing that objective.
Reward
Apply the completed catalyst to The Navigator to gain Gordian Knot. Its special reload mode lets the next shot create a Grapple Tangle at the targeted point, supplying an anchor for Grapple.
