History of The Menagerie

Overview

The Menagerie was a six-player arena activity aboard Emperor Calus's Leviathan, added in Season of Opulence. Launch it from the Leviathan/Nessus Orbit with the Chalice of Opulence, obtained from Benedict 99-40 through the questline. It was vaulted with Destiny 2: Beyond Light on 10 November 2020.

Modes and power

Normal: 690 power, matchmaking, no darkness zones. The Menagerie (Heroic): 740 power, premade fireteams, darkness zones and orbit wipes on team failure (released 25 June 2019).

Encounters

Rotating: the Lamplighting, the Arkborn, the Mockery, the Crystals, the Gauntlet, the Hunted, the Riposte. Final bosses rotate: Hasapiko (Vex Minotaur), Arunak (Hive Ogre), Pagouri (Vex Hydra).

Rewards

Runes on the Chalice determine loot: weapons such as Beloved, Austringer, Imperial Decree, and Opulent armor sets, plus triumph items like ghost shells and sparrows.
