History of The Hunt

Overview
The Hunt is a bonus-points phase in Iron Banner: Tribute, the Supremacy-style variant of Iron Banner in the Crucible. In Tribute you defeat opponents, collect the crests they drop and bank them at Cabal beacons to score for your team. The Hunt raises the value of that banking for a short window.
How it works
- Banking enough crests (the "score threshold" in Bungie's pre-release description) triggers a Hunt phase, and a special high-value beacon appears. Crests deposited there are worth more, and per GamerRant it is defended by turrets.
- Kyber's Corner describes a second trigger: The Hunt begins when you or a teammate becomes Primed, which Kyber's Corner says needs a streak of 5 or more eliminations. It lasts until your team has no Primed players left, and the team gets an energy boost while it runs.
- Filling a beacon resets the beacon locations, as noted on the existing Iron Banner: Tribute page.
Notes and disagreements
The sources describe The Hunt differently (a crest-bank threshold with a high-value beacon, versus a Primed-streak trigger), and the mode was revised after its first appearance in the season that introduced it, so details may differ by season. GamerRant's article is a pre-release announcement for Season 23 and said Bungie had not yet revealed the protective mechanic. Treat exact numbers as unverified. This page is about Tribute; the older Iron Banner Control playlist has no Hunt phase in the sources checked.
