Overview

The Desert Perpetual is a six-player Raid released 19 July 2025 with Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate. It takes place in the Unknown Periphery of Unknown Space, in the heart of Kepler's singularity. Recommended Power is 100 (the raid power was later reduced in a patch). Complete the Edge of Fate campaign to be ready; the raid is launched from the Director. The Vex themes of time are central: the raid uses the Constant Temporality, Cyclical Temporality and Absolute Temporality debuffs, and Chronon items. A hub offers three bosses in any order, then the final boss. A harder Epic variant followed on 27 September 2025. The Contest tag refers to the 48-hour world-first race.

Opening: Predestination

Clear the opening area and reach the central hub. Three half-spheres let the fireteam choose which of the three boss encounters to tackle next; the raid returns to this hub between bosses, so Epoptes, Agraios and Iatros can be completed in any order before the final encounter.

Encounters

Epoptes, Lord of Quanta

The team splits into two trios. Each side handles a Lens Hydra (Particle and Wave Lens). Killing Time's Magistrates unlocks side plates granting Constant Temporality or Cyclical Temporality; debuffed players see called-out eyes in the lens light cone and shoot matching eyes while inside players handle the boss's central shield eyes. During damage the boss regains shields and re-applies the debuffs. Challenge: no player may destroy a Lens eye twice in a row.

Agraios, Inherent

Plate holders and add clearers. Dunk Cobalt Chronons (dropped by Time's Burden Minotaurs) into five rings. One Agraios copy snipes with Variable Elimination (instant death if sightline is not broken within 10 seconds). The player with the matching temporality debuff begins Alignment Charge, then teammates charge rings with Chronons, then use a Detainment bubble to reflect the shot. When the copy dies, Agraios comes to the centre for damage; about three deflections kill it. Challenge: no player picks up a Cobalt Chronon until all have.

Iatros, Inward-Turned

One Climber, three Builders and two add-clear/Hourglass fillers. Deposit six Chronons to fill the Hourglass. When the Diastole buff reaches its fourth cube, builders shoot their bottom cube to spawn platforms for the Climber, who has Absolute Temporality; repeat three times to reach the top cube and start damage. If the Hourglass empties a 12-second Neomutation wipe timer starts. Iatros hits hard with its Void Warp Lance. Challenge: three Climbers.

Koregos, the Worldline (final boss)

A six-minute Digitization wipe timer starts. Stunners break the boss's four arms to stop its Arc beam. In the Hourglass puzzle, players gain Temporal Oculus information: Absolute Temporality sees the needed Chronons, Constant Temporality sees which mines hold what, and Cyclical Temporality identifies real mines and dunks their Chronons. Koregos then becomes a platform to climb. During damage, three sets of eyes need precision hits; a designated player extends damage by depositing called-out Chronons (up to three times). The final stand has a very short timer, then the Decoherence Imminent debuff means everyone must reach high ground or flee before the head explodes. Challenge: each player dunks a Chronon.
