History of The Almighty

The Almighty (also called Ghaul's Flagship) is the colossal Cabal superweapon of Dominus Ghaul, the crown jewel of the Red Legion.

Overview

Thousands of times larger than a normal warship, it consumes celestial bodies for fuel, then fires a beam to destabilise a star's magnetic field and trigger a supernova. Wikipedia describes it as a space station capable of destroying stars.

Red War

In the Red War campaign the Guardian must disable the Almighty before it destroys the Sun. Destinypedia's Red War page places it orbiting Mercury. After the Vanguard regrouped at The Farm in the European Dead Zone, disabling it was the turning point that let Guardians liberate the Last City and wake the Traveler.

Appearances

Seen in the campaign mission "1AU", in Curse of Osiris, and in Season of the Worthy (10 March to 9 June 2020). There a surviving Psion Flayer sent the derelict toward Earth; Guardians worked with Rasputin and Ana Bray to rearm his Warsat network and prevent a collision with the Last City. Rasputin destroyed it with satellite weapons and it crashed outside the Last City. It is not a raid or strike location.

History

Introduced with the base game (6 September 2017); its derelict hulk was the central threat of Season of the Worthy.
