Taken Orb

Taken Orbs are glowing orbs that appear as drops from enemies anywhere in the system during Episode: Heresy. Reports describe shooting an orb as splitting it into smaller fragments that award Taken Mastery points and Sigil rewards, though yields have changed across patches.

Orbs matter for the Path of Resolve and Path of Ambition at the Shaping Slab. On the Path of Resolve, shooting orbs gives a chance at a chess piece. On the Path of Ambition, Guardians interact with a Taken Orb in Eris's Flat as one of the mission's final steps. Each Taken path rewards three chess pieces, and the drops are random, so collecting all six can take a while.
