Shielded From Darkness

Overview

Shielded From Darkness is the Darkness buff needed to survive the cave in The Transgression during the Facet of Defiance challenge. Without it, the Darkness inside the cave damages the player.

Obtaining the buff

Shoot the Crux of Darkness just outside the cave entrance, to the left of an impaled-statue-shaped tree in The Transgression, reached from The Impasse. The buff lasts about 45 seconds and grants immunity to the burning damage over time inside the cave.

In the cave

Interact with the Darkness device, then destroy every Taken Eye without dying. The Dread enemies are invulnerable until the eyes are broken. Refresh the buff as it runs out, repeat the challenge three times, and defeat the Tormentor miniboss that spawns to finish.
