History of Sage Protector Cowl

Overview

Sage Protector Cowl is a Legendary helmet for Hunter Guardians and one piece of the Sage Protector armor set, themed around the Praxic Order and built around Sword play. It occupies the Helmet slot, and like all Armor it rolls stats and can hold armor mods.

Set bonuses

The Sage Protector set has two bonuses: 2-piece Combat Meditation (Sword hits return grenade and class ability energy, with bonus energy while Blade Focus is active) and 4-piece Blade Focus (briefly guard with a Sword to ready Blade Focus; while readied, Sword hits increase Sword damage and lunge distance). Sources suggest it pairs well with the Praxic Blade or other Swords.

Acquisition

Drops only from the Equilibrium Dungeon on Venus, from encounter reward chests, and requires Destiny 2: Renegades. Per Kyber's Corner, helmet pieces drop from Harrow (second encounter); drops are random, so repeat runs are needed. ProGameTalk recommends farming the quick first encounter. Sources do not say whether it is craftable or has Adept variants (armor is not craftable), and I found no sunset notes.
