History of Presage (Expert)

Overview

Presage (Expert) is the higher-difficulty version of the Exotic Mission Presage, playable aboard the abandoned Cabal frigate Glykon near the Tangled Shore. Expert mode increases enemy density, damage output, and requires faster completion for the Catalyst progression system. It was introduced alongside the base Presage mission in Season of the Haunted.

Difficulty and Mechanics

Expert mode raises the Power scaling to 1830 and introduces significantly harder enemy encounters compared to the Standard version. Scorn Abominations spawn in greater numbers, and environmental hazards like the Darkness fog gates require more precise timing of the Egregore Link buff effect (15 seconds per activation). Platforming sections demand faster execution to maintain time for the Catalyst system.

Rewards

Dead Man's Tale Catalyst: Expert completions award progression toward the weapon's Catalyst, requiring multiple runs to fully upgrade. The weapon itself drops with its standard Cranial Spike perk. Additionally, all Standard mode rewards including Season of the Haunted weapons (Bump in the Night, Hollow Denial) and armor from the Bushido and Eutechnology sets can drop, though at 1830 power levels when earned from Expert clears.
