History of Presage

Overview

Presage is an Exotic Mission aboard the abandoned Cabal ship Glykon near the Tangled Shore, the only source of Dead Man's Tale. It launched in Season of the Haunted and now appears on a three-week rotation with Operation: Seraph's Shield and Vox Obscura. It requires Destiny 2: Beyond Light ownership.

Unlocking

The original quest began with a distress signal crate found on the landing pads of the Nightfall The Ordeal: The Arms Dealer.

Walkthrough

Key mechanic: damage spores to gain the Egregore Link buff (15 seconds) to pass Darkness fog gates. Sections: breaking through grates, an electric room with fuses and Screebs, a compactor needing three fuses destroyed, Scorn fights with Abominations, a spore maze with switches, platforming, then the boss.

Locus of Communion retreats to a furnace; activate three panels to disable it, then damage. It has three health bars and the furnace relights every 33%, so return topside within five seconds.

Rewards

Dead Man's Tale (craftable, Cranial Spike perk), Season of the Haunted weapons such as Bump in the Night and Hollow Denial, and Bushido and Eutechnology armor from earlier loot pools. The Expert version is covered at Presage (Expert).
