History of Permafrost

Overview

Permafrost is a Legendary Grenade Launcher found in Destiny 2. It is associated with the Stasis element. The weapon's flavor text reads, "Freeze them out."

Uses the Wave Frame archetype in the kinetic slot with special ammunition.

Acquisition

Originally an event weapon from The Dawning. The seasonal event was retired in June 2026. Tenet of Bravery now offers legacy event weapon engrams for Legendary Marks in the Tower; rewards are random within the selected event pool.

Crafting and variants

This is a random-roll weapon without a crafting pattern. It has no legacy sunsetting Power cap; those caps were removed with The Final Shape.

Notable traits

Demolitionist supports grenade recharge and grenade-triggered reloading. One for All increases damage after hitting multiple targets. Origin traits include Dawning Surprise, Field-Tested.
