History of Once More into the Rift

Overview

Once More into the Rift is a Triumph in Destiny 2. It requires completing the Rift Generator public event in the Dreaming City on Heroic difficulty. Completing it awards 30 Triumph Score.

The Rift Generator is a Forsaken-era event that starts from The Strand.

How to complete

1. Start the event. Kill an abomination to get an arc charge, then carry it to the generator.
2. Defend the generator core through its waves. Repair it with arc charges from Ether Abominations.
3. Destroy the three Taken blights that appear near the end of each wave. Each passage holds one blight, and none spawn if the core is below 50% integrity. Blights sink underground where they cannot be damaged, so destroy them first.
4. Defeat the three Taken Wizards that spawn around the generator.
5. Enter the Ascendant Plane and defeat Vakarsik, Grasp of Quria, a Taken Captain. Six Taken Wizards shield him, and each shield drops when a Wizard dies.
6. Return to the Dreaming City to end the event.

Tips

• Bring a full team. Teamwork is needed to keep the core repaired and kill the Blights in time.
• A 2018 guide listed 540 power as the minimum for Heroic. Check current requirements before you go.
• Guides from 2018 describe the Heroic trigger differently, with one large blight spawning over the middle generator after enough side blights are destroyed.
