History of Old Sterling

Overview

Old Sterling is a Legendary Strand Auto Rifle with an Adaptive Frame (600 RPM, 42-round magazine per Destinypedia). The curated roll is Full Bore, Extended Mag, Perfect Float and Frenzy, with the Field-Tested origin trait (gradually raises range, stability, handling and reload speed). Flavor text: "It's far from pretty, but it will never let you down."

Acquisition

Introduced in Season of the Deep (Season 21). Like other Legendary gear it comes from opening Legendary engrams and from faction rank-up packages (the in-game source text). Whether it can be crafted or has an Adept version is not stated in the sources used. The Destiny Game Wiki says it is sold by Banshee-44; Destinypedia says only that it is earned randomly from engrams.
