History of New Arcadia

New Arcadia is a Gambit map in Hellas Basin on Mars, reflecting the Golden Age look of the planet. It supports 8 players, first appeared in Season of the Drifter, and was also used in Gambit Prime. Destinypedia's layout notes for it are incomplete. See also Deep Six.

Overview

Like every Gambit arena, New Arcadia is played between two teams of Guardians who bank Motes collected from enemies, send Blockers and invade the other team's side, until a Primeval is summoned and killed. The Drifter runs the mode from his ship.

History

Wikipedia's coverage of Destiny 2: Forsaken says Season of the Drifter (released 5 March 2019) added two new Gambit maps alongside Gambit Prime and private Gambit matches. Destinypedia lists New Arcadia (Mars) with Deep Six (Titan), Emerald Coast (Earth) and Legion's Folly (Nessus) as the Gambit Prime maps, and its Gambit page still lists New Arcadia among active Gambit maps. Beyond Light put Mars into the Destiny Content Vault, so check in game whether it is currently in rotation; sources are dated and do not say.
