Overview
The Microcosm Catalyst is the Catalyst for Microcosm, an exotic kinetic Trace Rifle from Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Its triumph requires 400 defeats with the weapon.
How to complete
You need Microcosm first. It is the reward from the Convalescence: Budding quest, the last step of the Convalescence questline from Micah-10. That quest requires three Cooperative Focus missions, which are designed for a full Fireteam, and the weapon cannot be obtained solo through them. Once you have Microcosm, equip it and defeat 400 targets with it. The triumph tracks progress as "Targets defeated."
The catalyst
The catalyst adds two perks:
- Thresh: kills with the weapon generate a small amount of Super energy.
- Stopping Power: Kinetic ordinance staggers combatants more easily, and the weapon gains target acquisition and extra damage against low-health targets.
Microcosm's own trait, Paracausal Imbuement, is separate from the catalyst.
How the catalyst drops
The catalyst is a random drop. GameRant says it drops from Vanguard Ops, Gambit and Crucible. Neon Lights Media says it can drop from ritual playlist match completion screens or Seasonal Hub turn-ins, and can be bought with Exotic Orders at the Seasonal Hub. Guides from before the catalyst's release list none, so check current listings.
