Microcosm is a Kinetic Exotic Trace Rifle from Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
Overview
Its intrinsic perk, "Paracausal Beam", fires kinetic light that deals substantial bonus damage to enemy shields. Archetype: Trace Rifle (heavy slot).
Acquisition
Complete the quest "Convalescence: Budding". You need to finish the Iconoclasm campaign mission so the Pale Heart opens up as a patrol area, then reach the Queens step ("Queens, Part 1"). Complete the three Focus co-op missions under Replayable Missions (Convalescence: Rootbound, Underbrush and Greenery; these start at 2005 Power with no matchmaking), then return to Micah-10 in the Lost City for the rifle (per Prima Games and Screen Rant search summaries).
Catalyst
Added in June 2026, the catalyst grants Thresh (combatant kills generate a small amount of Super energy) and Stopping Power (improves stagger, target acquisition, and damage against low-health targets). The objective is 400 target defeats. PC Gamer’s June 10, 2026 table lists Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, or Exotic Order payouts as acquisition sources.
