Mephitic Hosts

Mephitic Hosts are Scorn-aligned variants of Wraiths, ranked Elite or Major. They appear in Riven's Lair and The Coil, in the Enthymeme and Chiasmus missions. Killing hordes of Scorn during the Plaguewielder encounter draws out Elite Hosts, and Major Hosts spawn during the final encounter.

When a Host is killed it drops the Ephemeral Virus, a buff that lasts 29 seconds and lets the player break enemy shields and kill them. Players need to reach a Well before the buff runs out, or they die.
