History of Martyr's Retribution

Overview

Martyr's Retribution is a Legendary Solar Grenade Launcher with the Wave Frame intrinsic, which releases a wave of energy where its projectiles hit the ground. It is tied to Episode: Echoes. Its origin trait, Cast No Shadows, boosts handling after melee damage and loads a little reserve ammo.

The key traits are Demolitionist (kills generate grenade energy and using your grenade reloads the weapon from reserves) and Strategist (final blows generate class ability energy). Earlier versions of the weapon exist, and sources differ on when each arrived. Community guides rate it A-tier in PvE, where its main draw is synergy with Solar builds, and D-tier in PvP, since wave-frame grenade launchers have historically struggled there. A commonly recommended PvE roll uses the Quick Launch barrel and High-Velocity Rounds magazine with Heal Clip and Incandescent.

Acquisition

Focusing at the H.E.L.M. through Failsafe costs 4 Echo Engrams and 3,000 Glimmer, and becomes available once the weapon is unlocked in Episode: Echoes. It can also drop from the Enigma Protocol activity.
