Macrocosm

Macrocosm is the third encounter of the Root of Nightmares Raid (released March 10, 2023 with Lightfall), fought in a planetarium reached from Scission. The boss is Zo'Aurc, Explicator of Planets, a Shadow Legion commander left in charge after the Witness entered the Traveler.

Mechanic

Designated Guardians gain the Planetary Insight buff after killing Terrestrial Lieutenant Colossi, revealing mismatched planets. They swap planets between opposing triangular platforms using orbs; planets can only move to spots where the destination planet is also moving. Once planets match their Light or Dark designations, a damage phase starts in which teams match their paracausal affinity to coloured plates to damage the boss. The previous encounters are Cataclysm and Scission; the next is Nezarec.
