Jaren Ward

Jaren Ward was a Hunter Guardian of the Vanguard and the owner of The Last Word, which he is listed as constructing. He scouted Earth's frontier and freed the refugee village of Palamon from its tyrant, Magistrate Loken, becoming its defender.

In Palamon he adopted a local boy, Shin Malphur, as his second adoptive son and protégé. Dredgen Yor destroyed Palamon, and Jaren died while pursuing him; his Ghost survived. Shin later took up The Last Word and defeated Yor at Dwindler's Ridge.
