History of Jötunn

Jötunn is an Exotic Solar Fusion Rifle made by the Black Armory.

Overview

• Intrinsic: hold to charge a tracking shot that explodes and burns on impact. It behaves more like a homing rocket launcher than a typical fusion rifle.
• Exotic trait Liquid Coils: a slower charge deals more impact damage.
• Named for the Norse jötnar; the flavor text from Ada-1 references Ymir.

Acquisition

• Currently: the Exotic Archive at the Tower (one guide: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Microphasic Datalattice, 1 Ascendant Shard; costs may have changed).
• Older wikis say the Monument to Lost Lights.
• Historically: forged from Radiant Gold Frames in the Bergusia Forge in Season of the Forge. After Shadowkeep it came from the quest "A Giant's Might" (Vex kills plus forging ten frames over five weeks), now unavailable.

Catalyst

Completing 500 kills (drops from strikes, Crucible, Gambit) unlocks Cornered (faster charge when surrounded) and Incandescent (kills spread Scorch to nearby enemies).
