History of Ishtar Sink, Venus

Revision 5243 by archivist at 2026-10-01 23:22:24

Ishtar Sink is a destination region on Venus, based on the real Ishtar Terra highland. In the Golden Age it housed the Ishtar Collective and their Academy; the old stories say the sea boiled and shattered the coast.

Overview

It is now a conflict zone held by House of Winter (led by the Kell Draksis), the Vex (a Citadel) and the Taken after The Taken King. Destinypedia lists Winter's Lair as House of Winter's headquarters, and notes Blood of Oryx forces.

Locations

Ishtar Academy, Ember Caves, Winter's Lair, the Vex Citadel and the Vault of Glass raid site (the Vex "underworld"). Crucible maps include Asylum and The Last Exit. The main landing zone is the Headlands.

Access

Destinypedia lists the mission "A Stranger's Call" as the unlock. Ishtar Sink debuted in the original Destiny; the Vault of Glass raid launched 16 September 2014 (Wikipedia) and The Taken King on 15 September 2015.

History

Wikipedia says the original Destiny's content was placed in the Destiny Content Vault with Beyond Light. Destiny 2: Renegades returned Venus missions through the Lawless Frontier (Artesia Mons and Selina Morass), but the sources I opened do not list Ishtar Sink itself as a current Destiny 2 destination.
