Independent Variables

Overview

Independent Variables are Minotaur-type enemies in the Encore exotic mission from Episode: Echoes. They are fought during several of the mission's traversal sections and during the hydra confrontation.

Role in Encore

Independent Variables carry pickups the mission needs. In City Traversal, a Minotaur called Independent Variable spawns once the adds are cleared and drops a Partition pickup. In Confronting the Hydras, one carries a Connection pickup, and later Independent Variables carry Access pickups once the boss reaches half health. In the Overture variant, defeating them brings forth Vex modules and platforms.
