Immunity Shield

Overview

An immunity shield is an enemy shield type that blocks all damage while it is up. The shield is a rotating, semicircular barrier, so the enemy can only be hit from its open side or after the shield is pierced or broken. It is the shield category listed for the Vex Hydra and the Taken Hydra in enemy tables, and Iatros in The Desert Perpetual raid also carries immunity shields on its wings.

In Destiny 2, Hydras have three smaller semicircular shields rather than the single shield of earlier games, which makes them tougher to crack. The Epoptes boss is a shielded Hydra whose shield can only be broken after the team destroys its eyes on callouts.
