History of Illicit Sentry Grips

Overview

Illicit Sentry Grips are Legendary Hunter Gauntlets from the Illicit Sentry set.

Flavor text: “Let them rally. You will shatter their courage to fight.”

The Illicit Sentry set is a Gambit Prime armor line introduced with Season of the Drifter in 2019. The Sentry role perks unlock when multiple pieces of the same armor type are equipped, at +3, +6, +10 and +15 role points: Umbral Strike (multikills grant a damage buff against Taken that stacks up to 5 times), Safe and Sound (health regeneration near the bank), Invader Tracker (damaging an Invader marks it for teammates) and Light of the Drifter (maximum Resilience, Mobility and Recovery for you and nearby allies in the Well of Light).

Acquisition

Pieces come from The Reckoning, a PvE activity for squads of up to four in Gambit Prime. Banking a Sentry mote in The Reckoning rewards one piece of the matching armor type. The armor type is guaranteed, but the specific piece is random.

Illicit is the base tier and adds +1 to the armor's level bonus per piece. Outlawed and Notorious pieces come from higher tiers of The Reckoning and add +2 and +3.

Xûr also sells these pieces. The sources for this page date from the 2019 launch, so current availability is not confirmed here.
