History of IX: Embrace

Overview

IX: Embrace is a lore Triumph in Destiny 2 tied to Dredgen Yor, filed in the Book of Unmaking and added in Season of the Forge. The entry is a set of seven verses describing transformation as a painful process: the old self is lost, suffering is constant, and the one undergoing it is alone.

The verses ask whether the change leads to eternity or oblivion. The closing line is attributed to the "9th Understanding, 7th Book of Sorrow" and advises the reader not to dwell on the coming transformation.

Context

The entry is framed as Hive text about the Weapons of Sorrow, including Yor's weapon Thorn, and may point to a larger threat.
