IV: Something New

Overview

IV: Something New is a lore triumph in Destiny 2 for chapter IV of the lore book Letters from a Renegade. The book was introduced in Season of the Forge (January 2019).

The entry is a letter from Shin Malphur, signed "S.", written to a Guardian he admires. Shin has hunted Guardians who use forbidden power, but he is surprised that he has not tried to stop this one, whom he sees as having a rare mix of courage, might and curiosity. He urges the Guardian to fight for the Light. He warns that if the Guardian harms innocents or lets the whispers take control, he will stop them. He says this is not a threat, only how things are. The key line is "This is something new."
