Heaven or Hell

Heaven or Hell is a Triumph in Destiny 2.

Lore

The entry opens with an epigraph from "A Ghost of the Dark Age", who describes a lifelong goal of finding and protecting a chosen one. The main story is told in third person through a nameless man who wakes at night in the highlands with no memory of how he got there, and a Ghost drone that serves him.

The drone tells him to run because Risen are fighting over the territory nearby, and offers to take him to friends in a settlement to the west. He runs the other way and is killed when a vehicle crashes into him. The drone revives him and explains that he died and was brought back. The wreck holds an armored man dead in the cockpit, with a hole in his helmet about the size of the drone.

The drone says its only purpose is to support him, and that the region is full of raider groups led by Risen like him. When he asks whether this is the afterlife, the drone gives an evasive answer. He insists on going his own way, and the Ghost follows him.
